Mark Armstrong

Mark Armstrong is one of Ireland’s most versatile musicians. In addition to his work as a composer/arranger, his busy conducting career has brought him highly acclaimed collaborations with all of Ireland’s top ensembles and orchestras - National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, RTE Concert Orchestra, RTE Cor na nOg, RTE Philharmonic Choir, National Chamber Choir, Irish Chamber Orchestra, Irish Film Orchestra and Irish Youth Wind Ensemble. Mark has conducted and orchestrated for Ireland’s top film composers (Shaun Davey, Stephen McKeon, Ronan Hardiman) and is in constant demand in the recording studio producing albums for Ireland’s top performers (Anne Buckley, Fionnuala Gill, Meav and David Agnew) Over the past decade he has worked on internationally acclaimed projects such as Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance, and Bill Whelan's Riverdance and has composed a variety of original music for both TV and Film. Since 1989, Mark has held appointments in the Irish Army as a military band conductor and is currently Director of the Irish Defence Forces School of Music.
