One of the most popular pieces of Irish choral music, Shaun Davey's haunting setting of St. Patrick's Breastplate entitled 'The Deer's Cry' was composed for the voice of Rita Connolly. It is included in the large-scale work 'The Pilgrim' and remains one of Shaun Davey's most requested pieces of music.

The Deer's Cry is scored for soloist, choir and organ accompaniment. The organ accompaniment is included in the vocal score. Optional orchestral or concert band parts are also available for hire - see below.
