Aida (Prelude to Act I) - G. Verdi

Aida was composed for the celebration of the opening of the Suez-canal. It became one of Verdi's last opera's. The first performance took place in 1871 in Cairo followed by the European premiere in 1872 at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan.
