Danza Rebelde is an original work characterized by lively rhythms and melodic song
inspired by the biblical account of King David celebrating the arrival of the Ark with
impassioned dancing. 

“And David danced before the Lord with all his might, wearing a priestly garment. So Davidand all the people of Israel brought up the Ark of the Lord with shouts of joy and the blowing of rams’ horns.” 2 Samuel 6:14-15 

Other biblical exploits depict David’s strength, skill and unmatched bravery in battle, but his
public display of dancing before the Ark “with all his might” as an act of corporeal worship
demonstrates the forthrightness and singular focus of one without fear of judgment or of
the opinions of others – a rebel.
